United Teachers of New Orleans (UTNO) filed a lawsuit against French-curriculum charter school Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans and its CEO Chase McLaurin for failing to follow Louisiana Public Records Law, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

UTNO alleges the charter group failed to respond appropriately to multiple public records requests dating to March 2026. The requested records include financial expenditures related to a staff retreat in Colorado and the school’s “preferred vendor” list.

UTNO is asking the court oder McLaurin “to immediately produce the records” and declare that the charter organization violated the Louisiana Public Records Law.
